V.P. Harris visits Colorado to defend Bennet’s wasteful spending vote
March 16, 2021
Greenwood Village, CO. – Today, Vice President Harris is visiting Colorado to tout the partisan $1.9 trillion liberal wish list that Democrats passed last week.
Less than 10% of the nearly $2 trillion package goes to COVID relief and just 1% of the spending will actually go toward accelerating vaccine distribution.
Here is a reminder of a few items in this costly boondoggle:
✔️ $86 billion for a pension bailout that pre-dates COVID-19.
✔️ $270 million for the National Endowment of the Arts and the Humanities.
✔️ $570 million for 15 weeks of paid leave for federal employees.
✔️ $200 million for the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
✔️ $470 million for the humanities, arts, and museums.
✔️ $1.7 billion for Amtrak.
✔️ Forces $36 billion in Medicare Cuts, negatively impacting Colorado seniors.
✔️ $50 million for “environmental justice grants.”
The legislation passed with bipartisan support AGAINST it. As Chairman Buck said, “The only thing bipartisan about this legislation was the opposition to it.”
Statement from Colorado GOP Spokesman Joe Jackson: “Instead of working with Republicans to create a bill that was targeted and tied directly to the COVID-19 crisis, the Biden-Harris Administration chose to pass a partisan bill that looked more like an expensive, liberal wish list.
“Harris’ visit to Colorado to sell this costly boondoggle won’t make Coloradans forget that Bennet, Hickenlooper, and the entire Colorado Democrat Congressional delegation chose to follow Schumer and Pelosi in wasting their tax dollars on things that have nothing to do with COVID relief.”
