Colorado GOP Statement on 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment

Greenwood Village, CO. — Colorado GOP Vice Chairwoman Kristi Burton Brown released the following statement today, regarding the 100th anniversary of the Republican-led 19th Amendment and President Trump’s posthumous pardon of suffragette Susan B. Anthony:

“100 years ago today, our country took a huge leap forward in ratifying and finally guaranteeing women the constitutional right to vote. In fact, Colorado was ahead of the country and in 1893 was the first state to enact women’s suffrage by a popular referendum.

“I am happy that President Trump today is signing a full posthumous pardon for Susan B. Anthony, because it shows just how far our country has come in fighting for progress and righting previous wrongs. The Colorado GOP is proud to honor all those trailblazers who fought to grant women the right to vote.”
