Bennet should oppose job-destroying Deb Haaland for Department of Interior | Here’s why

Greenwood Village, CO. – The Senate is holding the confirmation hearing today on Rep. Deb Haaland who was nominated to be Secretary of the Interior.

So who exactly is Rep. Deb Haaland?

✅ An extremist who has said in the past that she is “wholeheartedly against fracking and drilling on public lands.

That would be a major hit to Colorado’s economy, and specifically the Western Slope, which has nearly 4 million acres of public lands. Currently

“Colorado ranks third in natural gas and sixth in oil production on public lands.”

✅ An extremist who supports the Green New Deal. Rep. Ocasio-Cortez even championed Haaland’s nomination and stated that Haaland is a “Unequivocally progressive. Green New Deal Champion.”

The Green New Deal is a ridiculous plan that would cost American taxpayers over$93 trillion or just $600,000 per household.

It would also go after air travel, guarantee economic security for those “unwilling to work,” and target Colorado ranchers by aiming to reduce meat consumption.

✅ An extremist who supports destroying the oil and gas industry, Haaland has previously cited legalizing “Cannabis” as a way to off-set the loss of fossil fuel revenues.

Here in Colorado, the oil and gas industry is responsible for paying over a billion dollars in “state and local taxes” and is a critical revenue stream that can’t be replaced overnight by other industries.

These funds are crucial revenue to funding things like K-12 and higher education in Colorado.
Statement from Colorado GOP Spokesman Joe Jackson: “Instead of blindly following Chuck Schumer and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Senator Bennet should do his job and look at the implications that confirming this extremist nominee would have on the people of Colorado. Deb Haaland, from day one, would be focused on executing the Biden-Harris Administration’s anti-energy agenda which would cost Colorado thousands of jobs, billions in lost tax revenue, and substantially raise energy costs on hardworking families.

“Vote NO, Senator Bennet.”
